Admiral Grace Hopper was born on December 9, 1906 in New York, U.S. She sadly died on January 1, 1992 in Arlington, Virginia, U.S.
She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Vassar in 1928 with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and physics and earned her master's degree at Yale University in 1930. In 1934 she got a Ph.D. in mathematics from Yale.
Grace was one of the first programmers of the Harvard Mark I computer. She invented the first computer program for a computer programming language during world war 2. She popularizing the term '"debugging" for fixing computer glitches.
